5 MLB Players Who Must Deliver Now on Satellite TV

If signing a fat contract is a day for a baseball player to relax and bask in the glow of financial security, it also has its other side. Sports teams pay you to do as well or better than you’ve done in the past for every year of that contract. Usually, it doesn’t work this way. If a player dips below that level, fans immediately feel entitled to boo until things get very testy around the stadium. 2010 could be called the year of the contract for several people: here are 5 players who must deliver to be followed on satellite TV.

1. Jason Bay. Everyone knows the New York Mets have problems, though most people attributed them to pitching. So why did their biggest signing for the 2010 season involve a slugging outfielder? Only those in tune with the mysterious workings of the universe could explain such a phenomenon. The Mets’ new leftfielder will nonetheless bear the brunt of that

2006 Florida Marlins Preview

2005 Overview:

Most Florida Marlins fans never expected another repeat of the 1997 season when management completely gutted the World Champion Marlins but that is exactly what happened during the 2005 off season. Despite finishing tied with the Mets for 3rd place with an 83-79 record, Florida decided it needed to dramatically reduce payroll in the hopes of focusing on a new stadium plan. In just 12 short days between November 24-December 7 the Marlins dumped millions off their payroll by moving six everyday starting position players, two frontline pitchers, a closer and a setup reliever. When the dust finally settled only superstars Miguel Cabrera (.323 33 116) and Dontrelle Willis (22-10 2.63) remained.

The 2005 offense was led by Cabrera who posted almost identical numbers to his 2004 season ending totals. Cabrera was joined by newly acquired 1st baseman Carlos Delgado (.301 33 115) and outfielder Juan Encarnacion (.287 16 76) while pesky

Dodgers Win 17 of 18 But They’re Not in the Clear!

The wild and wacky NL has suddenly quieted down as the surging L.A. Dodgers have assumed a 3 ½ game lead over the Diamondbacks and Padres. With just over 40 games remaining in the schedule the fickle fans at Chez Ravine are beginning to bleed Dodger Blue once again.

While a lot of the attention is being focused on veterans Maddux, Lowe, Sele and Penny, there is a strong case to be made for pitcher Chad Billingsley. The 22-year-old right-hander is 4-1 with a 1.76 ERA since the All-Star break.

The last NL team to win 17 of 18 games was the 1986 New York Mets who went on to win the World Series. No team in franchise history had won 17 of 18 since the Brooklyn Superbas went 20-1 during one stretch in 1899. Taking this into consideration, I’d lay some hard cash on a ‘futures’ bet at my local sportsbook or anywhere they take baseball betting.

The Dodgers’ streak began July 28 after they lost 13 of their first 14 games following the

Honest Home Business. Yes, You Can Build an Honest Business From Home!

You Gotta Believe in Honest Home Business

”You gotta believe” was the rallying cry of the 1969 New York Mets. After many absolutely dismal seasons, the Mets suddenly “put it all together” in the summer of ’69, winning a World Series. Their “worst to first” story seemed almost magical. The Mets’ lefty relief pitcher, Tug McGraw, summed up their remarkable turnaround with that three word catchphrase.

You gotta believe.

That’s a great saying for underdog baseball teams, but it’s also a fantastic lesson for those who are looking for an honest home business. If you want to get from your current situation to a position of home business success, it’s going to require more than researching options and putting in the hours. You’re going to need to believe in yourself.

Don’t dismiss that as a triviality. It’s important. And the forces that hold many back from developing that kind of belief are powerful, even when

History of the Arizona Diamondbacks

The Arizona Diamondbacks are a professional baseball team out of Phoenix, Arizona. The team joined Major League Baseball in 1998 as an expansion team. They were one of two teams the join Major League Baseball that season. The other team was the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

The Diamondbacks joined the West Division as they came into the league. The other teams in the West division include the Los Angeles Dodgers, San Diego Padres, Colorado Rockies and San Francisco Giants. These teams would be challenged by the Diamondbacks from the very beginning.

From their conception, the Diamondbacks were exceeding expectations. Usually it takes a team several years before having major success. For instance the Devil Rays, the other expansion team mentioned, never found their way to the sort of success that the Diamondbacks had found early for about 10 years.

The Diamondbacks managed to win their division in just the 2nd year of their

Boston Red Sox Tickets

The Boston Red Sox are a Major League Baseball franchise. They are competing in the Eastern Division of the American League. Opened on April 20, 1912, their home stadium, Fenway Park, is the oldest major league ballpark still in operation.. The Red Sox has the honor of winning the first World Series as the Boston Americans in 1903 against the Pittsburgh Pirates. After an 86-year interval, they were able to record their most recent World Series championship win in 2004.

The two clubs “enjoy” one of the longest-standing rivalries in North American sports.

The minor Western League declared its equality with the National League under Ban Johnson in 1900. It was the only major league then. The name of the league was changed to the American League by Johnson. Initially the team was competing in the streets. However, the upstart placed franchises in two of the largest and most important National League cities, Philadelphia and Boston.

<!– @page { margin: 0.79in } P { margin-bottom: 0.08in } –>

In the sports world, the arrival of a young phenom is met with both apprehension and excitement. On the one hand, if the young player turns out to be a bust, it’s disappointing on so many levels. Yet there is that hope that maybe, somehow, he’ll be that next Derek Jeter, a star who will shine for years and never leave your team. This year’s MLB crop is filled with phenoms to follow on satellite TV.

1. Austin Jackson, Tigers. For years, Yankees fans and scouts have been waiting for Jackson to make his debut in pinstripes. It seemed like it would only take another Melky Cabrera slump for it to happen. Then one day Melky was dealt to the Braves for Javy Vazquez and Jackson was traded to Detroit for Curtis Granderson. The result? A full-time job for Jackson as the Tigers centerfielder. Check him out on satellite TV networks to see one of the most exciting young players in the game – a
